Lucy Hale and Chloe Bridges have been cast in two new ABC Family pilots. Lucy, who used to star on the now-cancelled Privileged, is set to star in Pretty Little Liars. Lucy’s pilot is said to be about, “four estranged best friends who are reunited three years after their best friend and queen bee of the group goes missing, only to discover they are receiving notes from an anonymous “A” who knows all their secrets.”
Chloe’s pilot is still untitled, but it is about, “a young dad recently laid off from his architecture firm begins to identify with and mentor his underdog middle daughter, while his veterinarian wife shares a closer bond with their Type-A older daughter. The two philosophies on parenting and life highlight differences within the family.” No word on what daughter Chloe will play.

When Timbaland hooked up with Miley Cyrus for the track “We Belong to the Music,” from his album Shock Value II, the super-producer was thoroughly impressed with the “Hannah Montana” star. He thinks she’ll be able to make a smooth transition from teenybopper to full-fledged pop star, like another guy he’s worked with a time or two.
“I look at Miley as a female Justin Timberlake,” he told MTV News. “The reason why I say that is her work ethics are incredible. That girl can sing so good that I was very impressed. I couldn’t believe it. I’m like, ‘This is Miley Cyrus? She’s singing the song?’ “
Timbaland said he and Cyrus sat for hours trying to get the song — which he says is about needing only the music and nothing else, — just right. “She went in and knocked it out. She killed it,” he said. “She loved the song, so she killed it.”
He’s just hoping the 17-year-old will be given the creative freedom to make the leap into making more adult music. “When you go that [teenybopper] route, you can only be big in two places — either TV or music,” he said. “And hers, unfortunately, is TV. So she’s big at TV and music. She’s got to build up to that.”
But he has no doubt that she’ll be able to bridge the gap.
“She gonna get there — watch,” he said. “We developed a great relationship.”

You’re used to seeing Selena Gomez play with magic as Alex Russo on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. But now it’s Cupid’s turn to cast the spells.
“We are on season three right now, so we have a lot more magic,” Selena tells TV Guide about what’s coming up next for the hit series. “My character, Alex, has a lot of growing to do and she falls in love for the first time.”
Alex’s new guy will be played by actor Gregg Sulkin. You should know this about him: he’s originally from London, he plays Mason in Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, he’s really cute, and here’s the biggie — there were rumors a while back that Miley Cyrus cheated on Justin Gaston with this guy.
Since Miley and Selena have the same taste in guys – ahem, Nick Jonas – could Selena’s new on-screen love turn into her next boyfriend? If that’s the case, he better be really into music, especially Selena Gomez and the Scene.

Justin Bieber wouldn’t date Taylor Swift. “She’s a little too old for me — and definitely too tall,” he says. This is just one of the tidbits the 15-year-old teen sensation reveals about himself in the December issue of Details magazine.
In his exclusive Q&A, Justin talks about everything from his exuberant fans to his unique hairstyle. As for his thoughts on the teen pop scene, the Canadian singer doesn’t think it’s all that.
“I think some of it is corny, but that’s just me,” Justin says. “I just think that if you’re a musical artist you should do something that appeals to all ages. I mean, I have songs that are about love, but I have songs that are about everyday life and stuff that people can relate to. When I was very young my parents split up, and that was hard on me. So I have a song that talks about that. I want to have a career, not just a hit.”
